Milo finds a home!

I got word this morning that sweet Milo has found his forever human!! He was adopted with Luigi, the white and black playful kitten! I'm thrilled that he was adopted with a kitten his age so he'll always have a kitty buddy!!

more Milo!

I had the chance to visit with Milo again the other day! He's hanging out with his brother, Pongo and two other cats in the Paddywack kitty adoption room. I so hope he gets adopted soon, so he can be spoiled rotten 24-hours a day!! It would be super cool if he got adopted with Pongo.

Milo so loves to have his cheeks scratched!

and his tummy rubbed!

Pongo (in the basket) and Luigi trying to get him to play

Milo still loves to play...

and play!

So fuzzy!

Such lovely beauties! I do hope they find their forever homes soon.

Milo

My sweet little kitten foster boy is now known as Milo, from The Phantom Tollbooth, one of my all time favorite books! Milo is curious, playful and adventurous.

Milo has recently turned a corner.

Nancy was over on Sunday and bravely trimmed his razor sharp claws, so now we can work with him more easily (with less bloodshed!) Since then he's been wanting more time outside the cage to play and explore.

Laura's been doing a fantastic job helping him feel comfortable and secure outside the safety of his cage.

Theo's turn to check out Milo

With Milo being more at ease now, our work is done and it's time to say goodbye. He'll be going to an adoption room at Paddywack most likely tomorrow. They have a colony adoption room, so he'll enjoy the company of other cats and the staff really enjoys working with the cats, so he'll get lots of love and play.

Lesson #1

Nahum, hard at work, teaching his apprentice.

Nahum: Today's lesson is...

how to look regal by holding a commanding lion pose.

Go ahead and lie down right there...

that's good, now face the other way...

Stop hamming up to the camera and pay attention!

Looking good, you're almost there, now relax your paw and hold your head straight.

You got it!

Thank you everyone for the name suggestions, I'm spending time with the kitten and holding all the ideas in mind to see what fits him best. I'm hoping that in time he will reveal his name - in the meantime, if you have more ideas, please let me know.

Here's the kitten's current domain:

Inside the cage, he's a complete love bug. He plays and plays until he starts head bonking over and over! He's so very tame and friendly. He's been doing so good, I thought maybe he might enjoy some time outside his pen to stretch his legs, so I closed off the kitchen and let him loose.

Oh my, I quickly learned why he's here! He instantly regressed to feral-cat and completely freaked. He was terrified of me any everything and just wanted to escape. I had a devil of a time catching him and getting him back to the safe confines of his cage. Somehow I came away from this exercise with only a few scratches. Lesson learned - I need to take it much slower and let him get comfy on his terms!

new kit in town

This little 5 month old kitten is staying with us for a time. We picked him up Sunday evening.

He's little, but he's not short on cutes!!

He came from a nearby TNR site where 16 adults and 4 kittens were trapped so far (there are more yet to be trapped). The adults were covered in lice and the kittens had severe upper respiratory infections and lots of worms. One in the litter almost lost an eye but pulled through with treatment. The kittens spent about two weeks at the vet and I was told this sweet kitten was so malnourished he almost didn't make it. Three of the four have been on the mend and one remains sickly.

This kitten has done well with being socialized but needs a few finishing touches before he's placed up for adoption. He loves to be petted and to head bonk but he's not keen on being picked up. The goal is to give him more interaction with the adult resident cats who can teach him more how to be a well rounded cat.

After a little more than 12-hours here, Nahum wanted to hang out with the little guy. I was hoping Nahum would take a liking to him and teach him how to be an amazing playful and snuggly cat. So far so good! I don't know much about him yet, except that he's super lovey, curious and super playful, all of which seem kind of standard for kittens.

And here is where I need your help. This guy needs a name! He came with a temporary name that is so awful I dare not speak nor type it. Caren of Cat Chat did a great job naming Hershey, I'm hoping you all will come through for me again and name this beautiful boy. Please share your ideas, thanks!
