too cold

The weather station last night said we were in for the coldest night we've had in four years. When I checked the temperature last night it was 13°F (-10°C), too cold for Oliver to be spending outside, even with his many heated spaces. So, after he asked several times to come inside where it's warm, his wish was granted!!

Oliver spent the night in the small bedroom/office curled up on the heating pad I put in there for him. Seeing him warm and happy made me so happy! Maybe this can be the start of something wonderful! Then I'll have to figure out how to get his family inside too!

It was a bit chilly in the house last night, but Rori figured out how to stay toasty warm:

  3. Clever Oliver. We're glad he was inside with you, though, in spite of their wonderful outside home! BTW, -10C is cold for us too! Normal this time of year overnight, but still cold. Rori has the right idea. :-)

  4. mom worries about our Allie girl too but she has several places to curl up in the garage out of the wind and weather - and she isn't anywhere near friendly like Oliver. as for kittens, ours either stack up on each other or find an adult like Rori did :)

  5. I think it's wonderful that Oliver has a door to ask at...fingers crossed there's no spraying and he decides to STAY inside.

  6. I am so glad that Oliver asked to come in out of the cold. Maybe he can convince the rest of the family that it's better to be indoor kitties. Rori had a great idea for staying warm. Mine like to pile on me, but Bambino will curl up with either Spyro or Rocio.

  10. Good for Oliver getting himself a nice warm night's sleep....hopefully the rest of the family found some suitable accommodations too.....it was super cold here last night too. Hopefully our little "outdoor visitor" we have used the little house we have for her on our front porch!

  11. Relatives of mine have an outdoor cat that never relented to coming indoors full-time. She still spends time outside. She'll want inside on cold nights or when the weather is really nasty. They train their humans well!
