At the end of summer, I decided to do some last minute exterior house painting. Two walls were in rough shape and I really wanted to get them fixed up before the rainy season. So, I went gung-ho but the winter rains came faster than I could get it done. My plan shifted to covering the side of the house with a huge tarp in order to keep it dry so I could keep working on it.
As I laid out the tarp in the yard, Oliver and Pierre insisted on helping me get it all stretched out. It's hard to get good help, so I count myself blessed to have two such dedicated helpers!
Before I could get it hung, Oliver put his seal-of-approval on the tarp - he peed on it! Thanks Oliver! Argh!
The tarp did what it needed to do and with the help of one last dry weekend, I was able to plow through the last bit of priming and painting! It's ready for the winter and next summer I can go back and do a final coat on it all to keep it fresh.
It's great to have such willing helpers even if they aren't as capable as you would like. They are precious!

he heh heh. Baptism by "fire"...or fire-hydrant!
ReplyDeleteExcellent helpers. And of course the best part was Oliver's peeing on the tarp. LOL. Maybe that was for good luck. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh we love to help the Mom out in the yard too. Good job you and glad you put your mark on that tarp Oliver. Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteI did repaint the south side of my house a few weeks back. I had helpers looking out the window. Photo will be posted soon.
ReplyDeleteAren't they adorable! Excellent helpers!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat good helpers! My cat used to help my mom when she was cutting out patterns for sewing--she often "threatened" to make my next outfit out of kitty fur if he didn't move out of the way of the scissor...silly kitties..
