comfort

It's been a bit of a rough morning. I took a friendly TNR-rescued cat into the clinic this morning for a neuter and emotionally fell apart in their parking lot as I thought about possible outcomes for MK. I made it home and Oliver was there to greet me with never ending purrs and loves.

Once inside the house, I spent some time crying, writing and praying. What started as peacefully asking God for comfort turned into pleading for comfort. I know that when I'm emotionally overwhelmed, I have a difficult time sensing God's gentle presence, so I begged that God would provide his comfort in a loud or tangible way - something I could really pick up on.

I look up and there's Nahum hopping up on the bed.

Nahum in ancient Hebrew means "comforter"

I received my comfort, in a real tangible, fluffy package

And if that wasn't enough, Willow had to get in on the action too

Prayer perfectly answered. Now, I'm going about my day with gratitude.

    The love you take
Is equal to the love you make."
I too am praying for MK. How wonderful that Nahum, Willow and Oliver let you know that they love you too.

  5. Whenever you start to feel afraid, remember He is your strength and shield. His Presence watches over you continually, protecting you from known and unknown dangers. Entrust yourself to His care. Raise your prayers to Him with total complete faith. Arm yourself with knowledge that the Holy Spirit dwells within you as a believer. He knows already what you have need of. Yours is to trust.

  7. They are so "tuned in" to us.....they know how we feel about EVERYTHING. Nothing in the world is so comforting as a warm hug/snuggle from a purring cat.......

  8. The cats all felt your need for comforting care and they were there to tell you it's alright. Whatever the outcome is for MK they're telling you it's alright. God blesses you.

  9. Cats are just wonderful as comforters. I remember lying down on the bed and sobbing once, and Butch (my first cat, who was just a 6 month old kitten at the time) stretched out on the bed facing me and gently put his paw on my face. It was so wonderful I stopped crying. Kitties really understand and respond to emotional pain. Oliver, Nahum and Willow (and all the others) will see you through this rough patch. We are still purring for MK.
