change of plans

The list of chores for this weekend is mighty, so when I got home from work this afternoon I was planning to get started on that list a little early. I figured I would start with the thing I wanted to do the least, fix the peeling paint in the mudroom. I don't know what happened but for some reason the recently applied primer has decided not to stick to the wall compound on the mudroom walls, so the paint is peeling right off. Argh!

I'm not exactly sure how to repair it so it's not obvious that paint peeled from the wall, so I thought I might get a quick bit of inspiration from Google. I fired up the computer and before I know it, Nahum parks in my lap. A minute later Willow claims my lower legs. Hmmm, this might slow me down.

Then Buddy eyes the situation to see if there's room for him. Buddy's a keen snuggler, so he notices that even though my lap is fully occupied...

my arms remain available. So he promptly settles in.

Willow and Nahum occupy the legs...

Buddy gets the arm leaving me with one arm available to do my Googling.

I suppose the peeling paint can wait!

  1. Oh my goodness, that is cute. It happens here, too. Lily & Annie each have one leg and once they park it, I am stuck. But, that's the nice thing about the 'to do' list...it will wait for you.

  2. How sweet! You're a regular Cat Magnet. We have a new, larger sofa and the Horde loves the fact that they can swarm us now--I've had as many as five at once!

  4. How can anyone think about peeling paint when so many sweet kitties need to cuddle?

  5. Well done to the cats! :-)

Heck, I've had peeling paint here for at least a decade (on some of the window trim) and things are torn up but not put back together. LOL. And I can't even claim lap kitties as an excuse, since only Derry cuddles on my lap, and then usually more when it's colder and they're not out in the garden.

Your peeling pain definitely will wait. :-)

  7. Just goes to show that you should always have your schedule double checked by your cats for possible changes in priority :)

  9. Aww, I'm jealous. Skootch isn't a lap cat and Lucy prefers her dad to me. You certainly ARE a cat magnet!

    1. That is so funny. You are just a kitty magnet. Those cats love you! I don't know how you get anything done. Good luck on your projects this weekend.

  12. Thanks Heidi, I'll check into that! Even though I managed to get free from the cats, I still haven't gotten around to fixing up the wall.
