I spent the summer holiday working on the new raccoon-proof feral feeder. It was the first real day of sunshine we've had in weeks, so spending the day outside was glorious. The new feeder is coming along nicely. Hopefully it will be finished soon, then I can post some pictures. The ferals have been using the it already, which is fun to see. I'll tease you with this photo.
Nahum loves leafy greens. Lettuce, kale, celery, spinach. He rarely gets worked up about food but when he spies some leafy greens, he can barely contain himself.
He especially likes it when it's a large leaf and someone holds it for him.
Theo always turns up his nose at greens. However he can't resist corn. He loves anything corn. Popcorn, corn on the cob, corn chips, cooked corn, World's Best Cat Litter (ground up corn) - he loves it all.
ummm - cat litter Theo???
ReplyDeleteLove the pics of Nahum with the greens. :)
One of my cat Oscar will go through grocery bags to get to the greens....he prefers organic homegrown though!

Salad? Corn? Oh my gosh! What ever happened to loving the nip and Fancy Feast? purrs
ReplyDeleteYour guys have quite diverse tastes!! I'll have to try Charlie on some greens! Glad your feeling a little better....yep step away from the news! Big Hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteI have a very cute photo of Skootch when he was a youngster with an ear of corn on his placemat. He used to love gnawing on it. He also used to like begging for asparagus bits when I trimmed the stalks. He seems to have lost interest in all that (and food in general!) in his later years. Too bad - it was really funny when he once grabbed an ear of corn off of my dinner plate!
ReplyDeleteBut Theo ... CAT LITTER????
Nahum and Theo, it's good you have different favorites so you don't have to fight :-) One of my boys loves rice. I don't give it to him but he always tries to steal it!
ReplyDeleteI, Prancer Pie luv, luv, my leafy greens, too! They are just so tender and cool and delishus! Corn is meant fur chips. Bleh! MOL!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to see that there is a raccoon proof feeding place for the ferals. I cna't stand raccoons any more. They cause so much trouble.
ReplyDeleteThe Human says: I had a tiny female kitty named BooBoo who went INSANE when she smelled or saw asparagus. One night she ate 6 spears (and would've eaten six more but I wouldn't let her for fear she'd literally explode somehow--she wasn't very big, LOL.) Go figure. Spitty could not be less interested in any Human Fudz!
ReplyDeleteI'm not really a fan of leafy greens or corn to be honest with you....I'm all about the fish! I loooooove fish! Anykind and all the time. Enjoy it though dudes!
ReplyDeleteMom said one of her kitties, Hopping John loved green peas and corn as well. Had a tiny dish of his own whenever mom fixed them for dinner. One of the girl kitties, Robin, had her own dish of scrambled eggs. She loved them and had some once a week. NO one ate greens tho.
