the party that was

What do you get when you mix 20 crazy cat people together? A good time of course!!

This past Sunday was the First Annual Community Cat Coalition Labor Day Party - a time to celebrate all the great works the CCC has done this year! Oliver graciously allowed us to hold the party in his yard, even though he was too busy to attend.

What a fabulous time! So many wonderful people doing so many amazing things for the cats in this community. All this amazingness is certainly worthy of celebration! Thankfully Mother Nature agreed, it was perfect weather for an outdoor party.

Seeing so many people together who work hard to better the lives of cats really raises my hopes for humanity. These people are some of the most generous people I have ever known. Being among them is quite a blessing and an honor.

Meet Mystic, a gorgeous kitten who's being harness trained and socialized.

Her sweet temperament and cutes made her the star of the party!

Ten kittens/cats keeping cool in the garage

With this many crazy cat people coming together of course there is going to be cats! People who are fostering and/or taming kittens brought ones to swap with others. The idea is to give the kittens exposure to lots of humans so they tame to people in general and not just to one set of foster people.

One of the Siamese kittens from my recent RH TNR site.

Look at this beauty! One of the CCC members, Laurie, knitted this kitty after getting the pattern from the book Knit Your Own Cat: Easy-to-Follow Patterns for 16 Frisky Felines. I might need to learn how to knit this winter! There was talk of knitting kitties and selling them to raise funds.

Those that entered the house were warned about Theo's antics

Another member, Kathleen makes these amazing fleece blankets and sells them to raise funds for the cats. She gifted me with one for hosting the party, how awesome is that?! The kitties have all been taking turns on it and they love how soft it is.

I love your blog and you passion for kitties! My hubby and I are cat people, too. We have three very spoiled housecats and love them to pieces.
Mystic reminds me of our Zoey. She seems to be doing well at your party!
