mystery

The back porch feral-cam is setup to email pictures to my Flickr account every time it detects motion. A few days into my road trip, I was scanning through the pictures on Flickr when I paused on this one - a picture of a cat I have never seen before, a medium hair brown tabby.

While we've been away, this new cat has taken up residence on Oliver's back porch. The cat sitter says he looks young and is skittish. The feral-cam has shown that this guy spends a lot of his day hanging out on Oliver's back porch and Oliver has not been around much during the day. Of course not being there, I have no idea what's going on with Oliver, which causes me worry.

I'm left wondering how Oliver and his family are getting along with this newcomer. The only insight into this question comes from this picture.

Black cat on shelf, tail of new mystery cat

I can't tell which black cat this is, but the fact that it is sharing the same porch with the new mystery cat makes me think they are somewhat friendly with each other. I'm eager to get home and see what's going on. Will need to trap the newcomer, get him scanned for microchip and start the TNR process with him too. Soon.

  1. The black cat doesn't look all too bothered by Tabby so hopefully they are all on friendly terms.
