another cat puzzle

You might remember that back in November we did a fun cat puzzle, well, since that was so much fun we decided to try another! This one is the Mega Brands - Oh Fred! 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzle.

Even with all the kitty help, it still took us several weeks to complete the puzzle.

The secret of how an unfinished puzzle makes it through the night, cover it with a board!

Finished at last!
As you can see a piece was missing! After the puzzle was put away I found the missing piece across the room on the floor. Hmmm, I'm guessing it was either stuck on Nahum's long butt furs or little scavenger Willow carried it away!
And then it's time for the next puzzle.    photo courtesy of Laura
This second cat puzzle was challenging because most of the colors were yellows or browns. Even with the challenge, it was still fun!

Now that we have completed these two cat puzzles they need a new home. Anyone want the challenge of a cat puzzle? If you want one, tell me which one you want in a comment and I'll mail it to you! If more than one of you want them, then I'll select the lucky person via a random drawing! I'll pick the winner on Monday, January 7th, so the deadline for entry is Sunday night at 11:59 PM Pacific Time. Please note: you will receive the puzzle in the original box, you must supply your own helper cats!

  1. Can imagine that the catpuzzle with the little cat was hard to put together :)
My mom and dad-person once layed a puzzel all in black and white and 1000 pieces too.
We live in Sweden so you don´t need to send the puzzle to us , we know the shipping is expensive abroad.
I´m sure someone closer would LOVE to have it <3

  2. I also have a couple of cats and they too help with my projects. Doesn't matter if it's sewing or puzzles they get right in on it. I love that you are so dedicated to your cats. If I win your give away I'd like to get "Oh Fred". It's adorable. Thank you

  3. What fun you and the kitties had with the puzzle! I think I would find pieces everywhere if I put one on a table. I know someone will enjoy those puzzles and providing their own helpers!

  4. Cute puzzle, it looks very difficult. We think a puzzle would never survive at our house - unless you could nail it to the ceiling. (the 10 ft one - mol!) Happy Caturday, furriends!

  6. My Mom and Dad LOVE puzzles, and when I visit them I can work them too. At home I have too much help! I think you are very brave to attempt them...I'd love to work one. Either one would be great!

  7. I laughed and laughed and laughed through this whole post. I was going to comment that I use a board to protect my puzzles (when I'm brave enough to do them) when I'm not around to save myself the headache of losing pieces to play or to the teeth (yes, my cats like to chew on pieces)

    then I saw your board.

then I saw your puzzle completed sans one piece.. :)

I also used to have to deal with my rabbits chewing pieces. now I have to deal with kittens who think the puzzles I have tacked to the walls in the kitten room are for climbing and they pull pieces off.

I love that you are recycling. I'd jump at it if I didn't already have a stack of puzzles just taunting me to work on them. I bought a bunch a while ago and have only done a couple of them.

  8. Cats and puzzles...they may not harmoniously go together but they sure are fun. The finished puzzle is beautiful! I love the kitty in the box (is that Willow?). I would definitely be a taker but I don't have surface for it right now since our table is in storage.

  9. Wow you have such patience! And maybe you guys are a bit nicer than we are. A few of us pick things up and carry them off. Just for fun mind you!
    MEOW!

  10. Both are beautiful! I would appreciate either one and so would Chloe, the calico. You are thoughtful to pass these along.

  11. I love puzzles! I like to leave one on the table to work on over the course of days, as time permits. Tiger, though, also likes puzzles. He likes to take them apart if they are not covered. This has put a damper on our puzzle making here at The Very Best Cats.

  12. That is a cute puzzle! And cute cat helpers! We're not big on puzzles, but if we'd have finished one that big and that cute, we'd have done the glue thing and hung it on the wall! LOL
