No real news about BK. Thus far he has alluded my trapping attempts. Meanwhile his limp seems to be less defined, not sure what that means. He doesn't appear to be suffering at the moment, so I haven't felt as much urgency to get him immediate medical care. Although, I do still intend to capture him and get him tested, neutered and looked over.
I have been researching drop traps, and I feel better about using this method of trapping. I like the idea of the freaked-out cat thrashing around in soft-netting rather than into unforgiving metal walls. So, I'm working on procuring the parts to construct me one. Finding suitable netting appears to be a challenge, but I'm working on it.
Wow - make your own trap - we like it. Mom likes the idea of drop traps, but has to admit that catching the neighborhood ferals that way would be nearly impossible (and would reduce her sleep schedule by a lot).
ReplyDeleteWe're glad to hear BK isn't limping so much. Our mommy hopes you can catch him. We aren't so sure about that...
ReplyDeleteIf you look around, you could probably find plans, or even a place to buy a trap. You've probably already figured this out, but make sure BK can't just bounce the trap up and sneak back out.
ReplyDeleteGood luck. BK could use a little help right now, whether he thinks so or not.
FWIW, we found some trapping info from Feral Cat Coalition. Might help a little, maybe.
